Developing Essential Skills听
Since 2019, CCEP has helped students develop the essential skills needed to become practice-ready attorneys. They closely observe how in-house attorneys collaborate with their corporate clients and learn to tailor legal advice to align with the client’s mission, business goals, and industry context.

鈥淭he Corporate Counsel Externship Program is a privilege to be a part of 鈥 we work with phenomenal students who care deeply about their work and uplift each other in our seminar, where we cover everything from contract drafting to reflective practice,鈥 said Nira Geevargis, Clinical Professor and Director of Externship Programs. 鈥淚 am honored to teach alongside my incredible co-professor, Scott Darling, whose practical insights and steadfast mentorship inspire our students and strengthen their learning experience.鈥澨
Chief Legal Office at Upstart Scott Darling connects with students who say the Corporate Counsel Externship Program was the highlight of their law school experience.
Darling, Chief Legal Officer at the fintech company Upstart, witnesses the impact of the program in the classroom and in the tech industry. 鈥淓very semester several students from the class tell me that this was the most rewarding experience they had in law school,鈥 he said.听听
The experiential learning is reinforced and enriched through classroom instruction. Students enroll in a weekly seminar that explores the role of corporate counsel, essential lawyering skills, and the ability to self-develop and learn from practice.听听
For at least 12 weeks, supervising attorneys provide training, feedback, and mentorship, guiding students as they navigate the complexities of corporate legal practice.听听

Lasting Partnerships with Bay Area Businesses and Non-Profits听
CCEP externs benefit from the College鈥檚 strong connections to businesses throughout the Bay Area. Stitch Fix, a personal styling service, has partnered with 麻豆视频 Law SF to offer CCEP placements every spring since 2020.听
鈥CCEP听has provided great mentorship opportunities for our legal team, and has even served as a pipeline for identifying and hiring top talent,鈥 said Joanna Patty, Director of Legal, Product and Commercial at Stitch Fix.
Kerry Moller 鈥21 first served as a CCEP extern at Stitch Fix in 2020, laying the groundwork for her to eventually be hired as an in-house attorney in 2024. 鈥CCEP听has been invaluable to my career. It provided excellent hands-on training, helped me identify my career interests, and even led to a job opportunity with my placement years later,鈥 said Moller, who now serves as Legal Counsel, Product and Commercial at Stitch Fix.听听

麻豆视频OP oversees 10 campuses, five medical centers, and three affiliated national laboratories, allowing CCEP students to examine a variety of legal issues related to the system.听
